Island Blessings is a non profit charter of Aloha International. Started in 1989 by Fern & Michael Merle-Jones, Island Blessings offers programs, guidance and rituals designed to increase wellbeing, stimulate better health, and create more happiness. In addition to our these programs of self development, we have been performing and arranging wedding ceremonies through our business, Island Weddings & Blessings LLC for the past 25 years. With the recent Marriage Equality Act of November 2013, we are actively expanding our services to include arranging legal weddings for our Gay and Lesbian clients. We are very excited about sharing our expertise in this new market. We have set up a special section with pictures from past commitment ceremonies under the title of "A Rainbow Wedding."

A little about us personally...

Fern and Michael were married on Kauai in 1978. They have 2 sons who were raised on the Island as well as a daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

Fern has been a teacher and leader in the Health and wellness community on Kauai for over 25 years. She is a Licensed Massage therapist since 1979 and has practiced & taught massage extensively. In 1988, Fern was ordained as an Alaka`i (Minister) in Aloha International and developed a course with Dr. Serge King called Huna Basics which teaches the ancient wisdom of Hawaii and how to use that knowledge for personal healing and manifestation. She also offers tutorial and counseling services.

Michael began his livelihood on Kauai as a carpenter. His experience of home design and building has led him to a level of expertise in the field of alternative and "green" building and living. An ordained Minister since 1982, Michael shares his energies with the community in many ways. His personal practice includes Aikido, as well as ocean sports & integrating mind and body posture.

In 1988, Fern and Michael started Island Weddings and Blessings. In the last 25 years, they have participated in arranging and performing over 2,000 weddings for couples from all over the world.
